Newton-le-Willows FC's U11 Cosmos are a close-knit team with a strong emphasis on player development, teamwork and enjoying football.

Formed in 2022 through the club's Academy, the team began with nine players and has grown into a squad of eleven, with many of the original players still involved. Now in their fifth season in the Warrington Junior Football League, Cosmos have developed a strong team spirit and a recognisable style of play.

Led by Head Coach Kevin Liston and Assistant Coach Matt Holmes, the team focuses on building confidence with the ball, passing, movement, communication and possession. Long-term development has always taken priority over short-term results, encouraging players to express themselves, learn new skills and develop their understanding of the game.

The team has enjoyed plenty of memorable experiences, including a tour of Spain and the opportunity to train at Espanyol, helping to build friendships and create lasting memories beyond the football pitch.

Central to Cosmos is a positive, supportive environment where players can develop both as footballers and as individuals. With a committed group of players, coaches and parents, the team continues to grow together while maintaining the fun and enjoyment that makes grassroots football so special.

As they prepare for the next stage of their footballing journey, Cosmos remain focused on developing their skills, supporting one another and enjoying their football.
