Reserves Welcome Moore United Development to the Sports Club

Newton-le-Willows Reserves return to Cheshire Football League Reserve League 2 action on Saturday when they host Moore United Development at Newton-le-Willows Sports Club.

Kick-off is at 2:00pm, with Lewis Appleby and Stephen Lyddon’s side looking to continue an unbeaten start to their league campaign.

Newton opened the season with an entertaining 6–4 victory away to Egerton FC Reserves before sharing the points in a 4–4 draw with Stretford Paddock Reserves last weekend.

Four points from their opening two games gives the Reserves a positive platform to build on as they prepare for a second successive home fixture.

The Opposition: Moore United Development

Moore United Development are also competing in Reserve League 2 this season.

Their league campaign began with a difficult trip to Stretford Paddock Reserves, where they were beaten 8–1 on the opening weekend.

Despite that result, the early stages of a new season can bring plenty of change, particularly for development sides, and Newton will be looking to concentrate on building on their own encouraging start rather than reading too much into Moore’s opening result.

Saturday provides another opportunity for both sides to gain valuable league minutes as the Reserve League 2 campaign begins to take shape.

Goalkeeper Ollie Foy is unavailable, with Harry Ball named in the squad for the visit of Moore United Development.

Joe Davidson, Bobby Dearden, Ryan Whittle, Jordan Dunne, James Bateman and Declan Lacey are also unavailable.
