Smith returns to familiar surroundings, having previously represented Newton until the age of 17, before going on to enjoy considerable success elsewhere.

The defender was part of a trophy-winning Vulcan FC side and later completed remarkable quadruple-winning seasons with both Nicosia FC and Etown Sundays.

A composed, ball-playing centre-half who is always prepared to battle for his teammates, Smith will add experience, toughness and a winning mentality to the Newton back line.
