The match kicks off at 2:00pm at Winsford Academy, with Newton heading into their third league fixture of the season unbeaten following a win and a draw from their opening two games.

A 2–0 home victory over Egerton FC was followed by a 1–1 draw away at Knutsford last weekend, leaving Ben Crowe and Anthony Plant’s side on four points from a possible six.

Saturday provides another strong early-season test as Newton continue their first campaign in League One following promotion.

The Opposition: Winsford Town

Winsford Town were among the strongest sides in League One last season, finishing fourth after collecting 63 points from 30 matches.

They won 20 league games during the campaign and ended the season level on points with third-placed St Helens Town, missing out on a top-three finish on goal difference.

Winsford have also made a strong start to the new league season, opening their campaign with an emphatic 5–1 victory away to Garswood United.

That result leaves them on three points from their opening league fixture, setting up an early meeting between two sides who have both started the campaign positively.

Newton will therefore travel knowing another competitive test awaits as they look to build on an encouraging start to life in League One.

Co-captain Alex Barron and Joe Charleston are both unavailable due to personal commitments, while Flynn Bickerstaffe serves a one-match suspension following his sending off against Knutsford.

Joint player-manager Ben Crowe will also miss the fixture as he serves the final game of his three-match suspension.

Dan Hankinson, Joe Sigsworth and Nathan Wright all return to the First Team squad for the trip to Winsford.
