Newton-le-Willows FC is pleased to announce that Stephen Lydon and Lewis Appleby have been appointed as the club’s new Reserve Team Joint Player-Managers.
The pair take on the role having already been part of the Reserve Team squad, bringing with them first-hand knowledge of the players, the dressing room and the standards expected at the club. Their appointment provides continuity for the group while also introducing fresh leadership and new ideas ahead of the new season.
Stephen and Lewis will now lead the Reserves both on and off the pitch, working to support the development of the squad and maintain a strong connection across the club’s senior football pathway.
The appointments follow the decision of Ant Brown to step down as Reserve Team Manager, with assistant manager Andy Tither also stepping away from his Reserve Team duties to focus fully on his role as Club Chairman.
Everyone at Newton-le-Willows FC would like to place on record its sincere thanks to both Ant and Andy for their time, commitment and contribution to the Reserve Team. Their work has helped move the team forward and created a positive environment for players to develop, compete and enjoy their football.
Both Ant and Andy leave their Reserve Team roles with the full appreciation and best wishes of the club.
As Stephen and Lewis begin this next chapter, Newton-le-Willows FC looks forward to seeing the Reserve Team continue to progress under their leadership.
Everyone at the club wishes Stephen and Lewis every success in their new roles.
