Alfie joins Newton having most recently played for Haydock and Blackbrook, while his previous experience also includes spells with St Helens Town and Huyton, as well as time in Everton’s Academy earlier in his career.

A confident ball-playing goalkeeper, Alfie is comfortable with the ball at his feet and brings excellent distribution and communication from the back.

He has already settled quickly into the squad during pre-season and shown the qualities that Ben Crowe and Anthony Plant were looking to add to their goalkeeping options.

First-Team Joint Manager Ben Crowe said:

Alfie becomes the latest addition to the First-Team squad as preparations continue for Newton’s 2026/27 League 1 campaign.
