Newton-le-Willows Reserves have been handed a home tie in the Northern Cup, with Wigan Armed Forces Athletic set to visit Newton-le-Willows Sports Club later this month.

The tie will be played on Saturday 24 October 2026, giving the Reserves another cup fixture on home soil as they look to continue their strong start to the season.

Stephen Lyddon and Lewis Appleby’s side have made an impressive opening to their league campaign and will now turn their attention to cup action, with a place in the next round up for grabs.

Wigan Armed Forces Athletic will provide different opposition for Newton and another opportunity for the squad to test themselves outside of their regular league programme.

Further fixture details, along with a full match preview, will be published closer to the game.

Elsewhere in the draw, Newton-le-Willows First Team have received a bye and will progress automatically to the next round.
