Newton-le-Willows FC are delighted to confirm the signing of right-back Joe Potter ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Joe has previously represented Pennington and St Helens Town but has spent the last few years away from the game.

After deciding to return to football this summer, he has worked hard throughout pre-season to build his fitness and earn his place within Ben Crowe and Anthony Plant’s First-Team squad.

A young and attacking right-back with plenty of pace, Joe likes to get forward and provide an additional threat down the right-hand side, regularly looking to overlap beyond the winger and support the attack.

His performances throughout pre-season have already given the management team an indication of the qualities he can bring to the side.

First-Team Joint Manager Ben Crowe said:

“Joe has been working hard in pre-season so far to get back to it after a few years out. You can see he’s got some attributes to be a top player for us and we’re looking forward to having him with us this season.”

Joe becomes the latest addition to Newton’s First-Team squad as preparations continue for the 2026/27 League 1 campaign.
