Newton-le-Willows will welcome Granby Toxteth Athletic to Newton-le-Willows Sports Club in the next round of the Liverpool County FA Saturday Challenge Cup, following the latest draw.

Newton booked their place in the next round with a hard-fought 1–0 victory away at Rainhill Town. Matty Smith's second-half goal proved decisive, while a late penalty save from Alfie Speakman ensured Newton progressed.

Their next opponents, Granby Toxteth Athletic, compete in the Premier Division of the Liverpool County Premier League, a competition widely regarded as one of the strongest at this level of grassroots football.

The Toxteth-based club have made an impressive start to the 2026/27 campaign, sitting second in the Premier Division after winning eight of their opening ten league fixtures. They secured their place in the next round with a convincing 4–0 victory over fellow Premier Division side Ormskirk West End.

Having come through a closely contested tie against Rainhill Town in the previous round, Newton will be pleased to return to home soil. Ben Crowe and Anthony Plant's side will be looking to make that advantage count as they aim to extend their run in the competition.

The tie is scheduled for Saturday 7 November, with the winners progressing to the next round of the Liverpool County FA Saturday Challenge Cup.
